European Universities Lure Indian Students With English
BANGALORE: Gaining educational knowledge is an essential part of our life. But a fact often overlooked is that the medium of instruction is English, a language that most Indian students speak fluently. To attain that some of the top Universities in European countries are constantly thriving to attract Indian students by offering programmes in English, reports Ramya of TNN.
Most of the know that the U.S. has for long been the destination of choice for Indian students in search of quality higher education. Other destinations like the UK, Australia and Canada are the most feasible alternatives.
Additionally some of the traits like top-notch universities, a wide range of courses, high-paying jobs are also the main reasons for these nations being the natural choice for students from India and other Asian countries. But that may soon change due to the fact that with some of the European universities in Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy are looking to attract Indian students by offering programmes in English.
Naveen Chopra, chairman of overseas educational consultants said, “More countries are opening up to the idea of offering English-medium courses. It is the result of efforts by different countries to internationalise education." He further added that "Education is big business and several countries want to do everything they can to bring in students."
