Employee Referrals And Direct Hiring Channels Rule The Roost Among India Inc

Bangalore: For many years hiring strategies remained the same; nothing changed because there was no need, until now. The once-dominant HR consultants have now been sidelined, and employee referrals and other direct hiring channels have taken the center stage when it comes to recruitment, reports Shreya Biswas, ET Bureau.

The fact that employee referrals and direct hiring channels accounts to about 70 to 90 percent of hires in most of the organizations, and HR consultants are made to hire only for critical and niche roles is a clear indication of this trend. Information technology, BFSI, telecom, IT-enabled services and start-ups are the sectors where these trends are more prominent.

It works better as they can wait for a good fit, unlike in a booming market," reports the Economic Times.
