Companies That were Forced to Postpone or Cancel Job Offers

BENGALURU: Young graduates have always been ‘hot favorites’ for recruiters of recent startups or well established companies. However, in recent times the notion is changing with recent pass outs from reputed colleges like IITs are having serious inhibitions in accepting offer letters provided by these companies. This can be attributed to the fact that recently many well known companies had to put their recruitment process on hold, owing to funding slowdown and pressure on profitability. Here is a compilation of companies as listed by ‘Times of India’ that had to either delay the joining dates or cancel the offer letters given to candidates:

1. Flipkart:

One of the big e-commerce players in the country had to adjourn the joining dates of the newly recruited people from IITs on the grounds of restructuring their business. This move of the Bengaluru-based company has led to heavy criticism from the faculties of IITs. However, the firm later assured that they would be providing internships to the new recruits, who will be eligible for an additional joining bonus of 1.5 Lakh as compensation on the grounds of their joining dates being deferred.
