More often than not there is a debate whether applying for MBA programmes before you have turned 25 is a good option or the vice versa. And most of the times the experts have gone with the odds stating that getting a pre-MBA degree without work experience can damage your future career in significant ways, and here are the reasons for it.

No network support
Experience outplays knowledge in many instances in real life, therefore it wouldn’t be surprising if your more experienced classmates look down on you as a nerd or a bookworm. Not only that but with this instance most of them will be unwilling to lend you a hand and open up their networks to you to help you get a job. And not because they hate you or have any offence on you it’s because they would find it  embarrassing by the association with you.

Inferior choice of schools
It is a simple fact that top MBA schools does not that enroll MBA students with less than 3 years of post-bachelor work experience. And going by this fact more often than not people with more experience get admitted at better schools and the leftover applicants land up in schools of inferior rank and quality.

Salary expectations trap
If you somehow manage to get admitted into a mixed class of experienced and inexperienced MBA students, you will set your career expectations based on the salaries of your more experienced classmates. But on the other hand, employers would never offer you the same position and salary. It is unfortunate, but is true. Most candidates nowadays fail to understand that careers are very much path-dependent, so job offers depend to a large degree on past experience. As a result, all those unreasonable expectations will overturn your job hunting efforts and will hurt your career prospects in the long run.
