Analysis, Data Mining Most Sought After Skills In 2014
NEW DELHI: Skills for data mining, statistical analysis and storage system were among the most sought after this year by employers, according to professional networking site LinkedIn.
Skills around science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and data dominated the Indian landscape, particularly those relating to data storage, retrieval and analysis as organizations across a broad range of industries seek to harness the benefits of big data, LinkedIn said in a statement.
Skills in cloud and distributed computing, PR and communications and network and information security also featured among the top 10 list.
LinkedIn analyzed the skills and experience data of its over 332 million members worldwide, including more than 28 million members in India.
This was done to identify skill categories that belonged to members that had either changed employer or appeared in a recruiter's search during 2014.
Other skills sought by employers in India were economics, mobile development, digital and online marketing, game development and market research and insights.
