Acche Din For Jobs: Rise In Online Hiring

BANGALORE: For those who are unemployed and can’t get enough of social media’s then there is some hope to look forward to as the online hiring activity has recorded by 26pct increase in India. 

According to news report from ET and Monster.com the employment index reveals a boost of 13 points to 191 in May this year which has exceeded the amount made last year with 151.

"This is a reflection of positive business sentiment despite the challenges at micro- & macro-economic level,” said Sanjay Modi, MD, Monster.Com.

Nonetheless the monthly basis of hiring activity still remains a no show as the index reading of 191 in May stood at the same level as the previous month, this indication shows that there has been no growth in hiring activity during March and April 2015, reports Business Insider.

Out of the 27 industry sectors that have been monitored by the index, the online hiring has surpassed the level the previous year in 17 groups. As affirmed by the reports of financial daily, Manufacturing and production continue to lead annual growth. Furthermore an improvement has been tracked by the index for online recruitment activity on all 13 occupational groups.

The demand for arts and creative professionals is a rising trend for positive growth paths as the group recorded a 56 per cent growth in opportunities with May 2014 being the steepest growth till date. Tier II cities once again placed first in long-term growth chart with the highest job creation. Baroda (up 40 per cent) and Coimbatore (37 per cent) recorded having the steepest growth for online recruitment. Among other top cities, Bangalore is registered as having the most prominent growth year on year with a 29 pct, Mumbai at 25 pct followed by Hyderabad, 23 pct and Delhi-NCR, 22 pct.
