90 Pct Of Indians Benefit From e-Courses
BENGALURU: Online courses nowadays are a booming business and many people are taking advantage of it especially students. Coursera, which is one of the largest purveyors of Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), has conducted the first survey of its impact on professional and/or academic careers of learners, according to indiatimes.com.
The survey conducted by MOOC shows, the positive impact of these online or E-courses, that has brought a wave of change in people all around the globe and especially in India, where learners have said that these E-courses have brought a big change in their careers as well as in their educational paths. However, these E-courses will increase as India increases its broadband penetration and will reach out for more growth in the market and reach out to more Indians.
According to the statistics, 72 percent of learner’s complete online courses for their career advancement and 61 percent of them do it for their educational advancement. Here Indian learners have an advantage of over global average of career opportunities, as Indians students had an average of 82 percent. Similarly, 91 percent of Indian education seekers have seen a range of benefits where the global average was 88 percent; 68 percent of them gained knowledge essential to their field of study.
