Bangalore: Why women are not recognized well at a workplace? In a workplace, gender inequality remains prevalent, as we see only men acquiring higher positions and taking high pay in common. The reason for this is that they are well versed in field of influencing the senior authority when compared to women workers. According to a study conducted by the Catalyst, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for women in workplace, reported that women accounted for only 14.4 percent of executive positions.

What can be done by women to get recognized and move ahead in their workplace? Here are few ways which can be helpful for women to get ahead at workplace.

Don't consider the workplace is fair:

Women should carry the attitude that their workplace biased and will never act fair for them. Once she accepts it, it becomes a lot more easier understand the politics in office and defend themselves. They must change their attitude because in many companies women are been discriminated with their male counter parts. They must be strong enough to fight back for the discrimination. They must be bold enough to raise their voice when they are paid less for the same work in which men earn more. Many women are given less opportunity for promotion. They must show their efficiency in a positive way and make the higher authorities know their capabilities and efficiency to work equally as men do in office.

Mark your presence everywhere:

If you want to achieve a better career success and if you think it as your goal, firstly you must try to increase your visibility in your organization. Many of the women have been still experiencing difficulty in finding ways to get senior management's attention to their contributions in the company. So firstly, the women must start positioning themselves to advance from the beginning itself. Make sure all your contributions to the company reaches to your senior authority and they consider you as an efficient and determined person.
