8 Popular Jobs Heading For Extinction

Farmer
Median Salary: $69,300
Hiring outlook by 2022: -19 percent

Farmers were once, almost literally, the backbone of the Indian economy, but that has changed drastically in the recent past. According to BLS report,  farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers will see their workforce numbers decline by 19 percent by 2022. This cultural transformation is seen as a major factor that is hindering the growth of this profession. Farmers are now willing to work in farms owned by corporations or selling their lands to industries for fancy prizes. To put it simple words, the profession simply doesn't have the appeal it once had in India and around the world.
Meter reader
Median annual salary: $36,410
Hiring outlook by 2022: -19 percent

With the utility companies implementing remote-viewable meter readers, the technology is causing this job’s extinction too. The job field once considered the toughest, is no longer in need of personnel these days, simply due to the fact that machines have become smarter and can compile usage data without needing a worker to visit the site. According to BLS report, the meter readers will see their workforce numbers decline by 19 percent by 2022. And as more companies start to utilize technology, there will be fewer meter readers needed in upcoming years.
