As the name indicates these professionals develop video or computer games. They are also responsible for developing the plot, theme and rules of these games. Once the basic story and framework is conceptualized, game designers take their ideas to artists and sound designers who create the visual and audio portions of the game.

Organizational skills, computer knowledge, familiarity with gaming, creativity, problem-solving abilities, communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are necessary to bag seven digit salaries in this line of work.

Professional degree in computer science, art or 3D animation, which is in accordance with the area of expertise, is the entry level educational requirements to land a job as a game designer.
