An eye for detail, strong sense of color, balance and proportion, and appreciation for beauty are some of the pre-requisites of a fashion designer. Creativity, problem solving and patternmaking skills, excellent communication and a flair for fashion are some of the other critical attributes associated with this field.

A diploma or a degree in fashion designing and knowledge of textiles, fabrics, fashion trends or ornamentation are some of the essentials to land a job in this industry.
