7 Cognitive Biases to Avoid in Your Interview

Blind Spot Bias

Certain hidden biases exist in human beings regarding sexuality, disability status, nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, race, or social status. If your resume has any such spot that can immediately trap the blind spot of the interviewer, then do take first hand step to justify yourself. Suppose an interviewer won’t really believe in the capabilities of a physically challenged person. It’s on the applicant to state his skills and talents, so that the officer is pleased enough to walk out with a good thought after the interview.

Confirmation Bias

Humans tend to believe and preconceive what they hear for the first time. So interviewees, when you speak up about yourself, do be sure of the statements you make. Rectifications at a later stage might not keep it easy for you to convince the hiring officer. Speak confident and smart, so that no loopholes or queries exist in his mind.
