60 Pct Employees Confess That Their Workplace is Enjoyable

BANGALORE: According to a TimesJobs survey that is based on the responses of more than 650 employees, a good 60 pct of employees testify that their office is enjoyable. In contrast to which, 43 per cent testify that a flexible work environment serves as an important factor for high-quality workplace culture, reports ET.

The survey further discloses that while 60 pct of the employees are more positive towards the office environment being open and fun a good 40pct found this new setting quite stressful.  In regards to business line, the responses have been noted as the following. 90pct of the employees in the healthcare, retail and manufacture line of business are more accepting towards the fun setting of office. The 80pct of IT sector employees look at the new settings with a positive outlook. On the other hand, 70pct employees in the automobile ITES/BPO sector state that the new office environment was stressful and troublesome.

 For mid size companies and large size companies the response of approval stood at 75pct while 43pct felt like moving jobs due to the inability to handle the new work culture.

Furthermore, in regards to the needs of employees, 43pct of the workers wish for a more flexible work setting, 31pct disclose the need for openness for dialogue along with leadership capabilities while 12pct wish for freedom to ideate and innovate.

As per the survey, employees keep tabs on potential employer through several means that follows. 7pct track their employees through social media, 64 pct of those before joining discovered the work environment through word of mouth from friends and acquaintances. 14 pct learnt of the work setting through the company’s career website.  15pct follow the office culture employer rating stations.

In addition, employees when put in a situation have responded to the following. While 90pct would not consider joining a company with good pay but bad work culture, 64 pct agree to take such up such a job. Likewise 65 pct responded to join an organization that advertise or showcases its work culture while 35pct weren’t up to it.

 With that being reported, the blame has been pointed out with 12pct of the employees blaming the supervisors, 11pct of employees finding fault in the HR, 67pct hold the top management responsible while 10pct of the employees hold their peers at fault.
