6 People, Who Chose A Different Path And Are Making A Difference
BENGALURU: Many professional people have quit their jobs to explore their dreams and passions. While we sit back in office cribbing about deadlines and awful traffic, there are people who are actually doing something with their lives. They decided their lives to get out of their monotonous careers and give something back to society. They chose society over big bucks, according to indiatimes.com.
Pramita Balar:
After finishing her bachelor’s in business management and a masters in media, Pramita had a conventional start to her corporate career with stints in marketing, corporate gifting, and later moving on to become a media planner. However, her love for dogs and a growing disinterest with her job intervened and she decided to turn into a dog trainer. She got certified as a Canine Trainer & Behaviorist while still in her job.
A few days after her certification, she got her first lead, did her first session with a Golden Retriever, and she was hooked for life. Today Pranita runs her own Canine Training Academy, a field still new to India, and prides herself on using humane, non-control techniques on the dogs.
Narayanan Krishnan:
Krishnan founded the Akshaya Trust organization in 2003, which helps to feed the homeless and mentally disabled in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to 425 indigent and elderly people in Madurai. He also provides haircuts and shaves to give dignity to those he serves. He was selected as one of the Top 10 in "CNN heroes 2010" list. The character Narayanan Krishnan played by Jayaprakash in the 2012 Malayalam film Ustad Hotel is based on him.
