6 Exciting Jobs with Unpredictable Schedule

#4. Nurse

Medical care neither has fixed schedules nor the work stops after 5 p.m. As a nurse an individual has the liberty to construct their own work schedule around flexible shifts. Whether an individual is a non-traditionalist, early bird or night owl, there are options.

Taking about the flexibility and excitement in this profession, Kenty said that, "Different patients will present different medical challenges, and there may be fast periods and slow periods. So nurses constantly multitask, and they quickly shift gears". Mirroring the sentiments of Kenty, JoAnn Lazarus, President of the Emergency Nurses Association board of directors, quoted that, "In one day, you may help a mother give birth to a child, and also hold the hand of someone in the last stages of their life". And she added that, "One minute you're taking care of a child who placed a foreign object in his nose, and a few minutes later, you're treating someone who had a heart attack."

A Bachelor’s or Associates degree in nursing is essential to land a job in this profession.
