Focus on your Achievement
Most people make this mistake and wrongly interpret the responsibility as their achievement. Anyone can do their job but the important factor is how well they do the job, wherever they work. The thing that you were a good team player does not matter much unless you made an under-performing team achieve their goal through your help.
Don’t include phrase like ‘I was responsible for’ in your resume instead go for ‘I achieve’ and for each achievement mentioned, ask yourself what does each accomplishment say about yourself which fit as per employer requirement.
Sell your resume
The basic principle to sell your resume is that it must show you as a product in the very best light, which means use all most commendable tactics possible to make you look good. For instance: You joined a company as a sales executive that has just launched a new product in the market. You start selling the product but the product has so many problem that the profit of the company start to fall. But, you still succeeded in selling the same product more than any other product and company awarded you with a prize for this.
Here how you summarize your job on the resume: Assumed selling responsibility as a sales executive and won the prize for selling maximum numbers of product. But, if you say just “Worked as sale executive” no one will know that you did a good job.
