New Delhi: Year 2011 is actually bringing happy news for many mothers, as 56percent Indian Companies has plans to recruit mothers as part-time workers this year, though this is actually less when compared to yester year's 64 percent. This seems to be higher compared to other global companies, who have plans to hire only 36 percent mothers in 2011, which is according to a survey done on 10,000 company head by Regus, a Workplace Solutions provider. Indian companies have come to this conclusion to fill in the gap of unemployment as well as to increase their economical status, as part-time working mothers give full productivity without demanding much remuneration. But according to the report, many companies are anxious, as they feel that these working mothers may not be able to give complete commitment and attention. They give out various reasons for their anxiousness. Nearly 45 percent mothers have skill sets that are completely out dated or 55 percent of mothers leave the job immediately after training to have another child. On the other hand, the report also leaves a positive note that many companies who have a negative attitude towards working mothers, are missing a huge pool of human resources who would contribute to the development of the company. Furthermore, Madhusudhan Thakur, Regus(India) Country-Head says "Savvy businesses are already using flexible work arrangement to integrate these valuable assets, providing a family friendly and at the same time more productive work environment simply by allowing employees to work alternative hours or closer to home." But still, this is going workout wonders for women, mainly mothers who are struggling to strike a balance between career and family.
