4. Lima, Peru

This cultural capital of Peru accommodates one the oldest higher learning institution, San Marcos University. This university was founded in 1551. Being one of the most educated countries in South America, Peru is home to a number of universities, institutions and schools which are internationally known. Apart from this, its historic importance makes the city one of the favourite tourist lands for historians. With splendid archeological sites, museums, art galleries, festivals and rich traditions, the city shares a lot more than just academic studies. Lima is known for Celtic and Spanish language studies. The city is also known as the industrial and financial centre of Peru and one of the most main financial centres in Latin America.  Moreover, Peru’s currency exchanging is relatively reasonable for foreign students.
