BENGALURU: India’s higher education system, in most cases appears to be outdated; for it fails to impart even the basic skill sets that employers expect form entry level candidates. Significant portion of Cost to Company (CTC) is spent for training the employees, especially those with a background in engineering. If left unchecked, it would undermine the value of bachelor’s degree which is quite evident given the current trend wherein most students opt for post graduation. Often, a blind ‘follow the herd’ approach that is fueled by the ignorant notion that Post Graduate (PG) degree is nowadays more valued for being employed. However, the tides are changing as the Young India generation embraces the new motto: ‘work to live life’ unlike their predecessor’s ‘live to work’.
