32 Percent Growth in Online Recruitment: MEI

According to the Monster Employment Index (MEI) the month of June registered 32pct year-on-year (YoY) increase in online recruitment this year, as reported by Economic Times.
The data was collected in different parameters like Industry, Occupation and Geography.
Industry Wise Year-on-year Trends:
Banking/Financial Services, Insurance is leading among all industry sectors with a 72 percent growth this year. Since November 2014 this sector has been registering double-digit annual growth. Online Recruitment for Banking/ Financial services is increased by 36 percent.
On the other hand there was 67 percent YoY growth registered in Production and Manufacturing wherein recruitment via online increased by 13pct.
Media & Entertainment industry also witnessed a 2pct increase in online recruitment activity.
Consumer Goods/FMCG, Food & Packaged Food sector matched the past years pct of recruitment.
IT – Hardware, Software showing a 61pct increase and BPO/ITES scoring a 28pct YoY growth.
There is a decline in Chemicals/Plastic/Rubber, Paints, Fertilizer/Pesticides down by 29pct.
Occupation Wise Year-over-year Trends:
Arts/Creative professionals witnessed a 61pct growth in demand from the year-ago.
Software, Hardware, Telecom (up 52pct); Sales & Business Development (up 43pct); and Finance & Accounts (up 41pct); HR & Admin (up 25pct) saw significant improvement.
Purchase/ Logistics/ Supply Chain personnel saw online demand exceed by six percent in June.
Geographic Wise year-over-year Trends:
Tier-II cities continue to lead among the monitored cities, where the recruitment of Kochi is up by 47pct, Baroda by 37pct and Coimbatore by 42pct, Bangalore by 42pct, Mumbai by 36pct and Hyderabad by 33pct.
Chandigarh was the lowest among all the monitored cites which registered only 22pct of growth in online recruitment.
