26pct Growth in Hiring Activity in Oct 2015: Report
BANGALORE: For October 2015 the Naukri Job Speak Index has reported a 26 per cent increase in hiring activity over the parallel period last year. IT-Software and ITES industries have reported the highest growth in recruitment in the October' 15 index. The Y-O-Y growth for ITES industry has risen from 27 pct in the September' 15 index to 36pct in October'15 index.
Likewise the trend has also been disclosed by the IT-Software industry wherein the Y-O-Y growth in recruitment has risen from 24pct in the September' 15 index to 34pct in the Oct'15 index. FMCG, BFSI, Healthcare and Media and Entertainment industries were the next to follow in the trend pattern, reported by ET
Last year, both major festivals had their celebration in the month of October itself. Consequently, the rise of hiring activity in October 2014 was restricted. Taking into account the seasonality, the Naukri Job Speak Index for October 2015 has been measured at an average of the index for October 2014 and November 2014. The demand for journalist has been the highest throughout 2015 and recorded a 69pct Y-O-Y increase. The requirement for Media professionals has raised from a 26pct Y-O-Y growth in the September'15 index to 53pct Y-O-Y growth in the October'15 index.
Similarly, the trend is also seen in the requirement for Marketing & Advertising, Consulting, ITES, BFSI and IT-Software professionals.
Delhi-NCR has sustained a record of the highest Y-O-Y rise in hiring activity among other metros for second month in a row. Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune followed behind.

As predicted earlier this growth is driven not just by sectors viz IT/ITES/BFSI but an overall growth in all sectors. Looks like this trend will continue & the festive season is likely to bring cheer to jobseekers across sectors.”
