2. Ethical hacking

This is a profession that, with some legal training, is suitable for people who have stayed up all night to hack their friend’s Facebook accounts. You can get paid to crack the security systems of computers, and break codes and make a career out of it at the same time.

Places to Study: You need to know different computer programming languages, so a software degree is a useful. The Indian School of Ethical Hacking and Institute of Information Technology offer specialized Ethical Hacking courses.

Job Prospects: Begin your career with an internship, and move up the chain! With five to six years experience, one can take home a salary of 10 to 12 lakhs per annum.

3. Puppetry

Puppetry is an ancient art form and an important medium of education in India and many parts of South East Asia. Several stage shows and performances have helped in putting the spotlight on puppetry. The art form is used for education and entertainment and is growing in popularity.

Places to Study: Conducted by renowned puppeteer Meena Naik, Mumbai University offers a course. Calcutta Puppet Theatre is also starting to offer courses in all theoretical and practical aspects.

Job Prospects:  Join one of the many regional or international Puppet theatres, or set up as an entrepreneur.
