In most cases, there’s never any real emergency (except in all probability you’re bleeding ears caused by the topic of the discussion) so try not to waste your manners on those people who defiantly needs to take a hint. 

The HR Hater

Lots of people having nothing but hate for their HRs, however in all fairness, while some have a good reason for it, others do not. Most HRs are HRs for a reason, they’re good at what they do whether or not you think otherwise. So if you probably got a small raise it’s probably got something to do with budget financed accordingly which is based on what the government has ensured.
