Pestering People on Social Media Sites
LinkedIn is the largest social media networking site for job holders. Even 94 percent of recruiters use LinkedIn for hiring efficient candidates. So, people generally try to connect with a large number of employees, sometimes without even knowing them. This is highly unacceptable. Before sending the invitation one should think properly that whether he knows the person or not.
Just populating your network with more and more people is of no use. Only those connections matter where people know you personally. So join different groups, spend time in various discussions and bond with people around.
Not Interested in Helping Others
Networking is really a two way street. It works as a ‘give and take’ policy. If you will help others, you will definitely get a lot in return. But if your mentality is about only drawing, collecting and not returning, your name will be cut off from the list of most of your contacts. You should always try to help others very often, so that when your turn comes, you have everyone beside you.
