Silverlight: This was Microsoft’s answer to Adobe Flash but the drawback with this software was that it could not be used on the windows mobile platform. Microsoft now has stopped the Silverlight development but they will support Silverlight till 2021. The main reason behind this decision is the rising significance of mobile devices and the current software doesn’t provide the required facility. Microsoft plans to shift its focus more on the HTML 5 platform which is more versatile. And it is high time for professionals who are well versed with Silverlight software should as well shift to adapting HTML 5 otherwise your future seem to be in the bleak. 

Adobe Flash: Web developers, app developers and designers have long relied engagement with adobe flash to create interactive things but for these professionals, future looks unclear as Adobe has announced that it will stop flash for the mobile platform as HTML5 takes centre stage.  Steve Jobs was right when he took a dig at Adobe and said flash won’t be part of Apple’s IOS platform as it has no future and this claim has come to life. Also, Adobe announced that it would stop developing Flash for mobile devices and focus on HTML 5 where the future belongs to.
