10 Harvard Dropouts Who Turned Out Successful
BENGALURU: For some tests, and classes, just don't get along and plenty of students don't make it through. But that doesn't mean these students are prone to failures. Many of the world’s most recognizable celebrities whom we admire today never earned a college degree, but that didn’t hurt their chances of success one bit. From billionaire CEOs to A-list movie stars to legendary directors, here are 10 names of successful people who despite dropping out of Harvard ended up being very successful, as reported by Lauren Browning of Business Insider.
Bill Gates
Bill Gates attended Harvard during 1973-1975 and would go on a 36-hour study-bender, sleep for 10 hours, socialize, then start from the beginning. Although Bill was going great in academics, his desire to establish a software company didn’t let him complete his studies. And that is when he left the university to start Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen.
The Microsoft mogul, who has been called by the media as the Rocky Balboa of the business world is now worth approximately $81 billion. Gates recently stepped down as chairman of Microsoft and now serves as a technology adviser for the company. Gates and his wife, Melinda, started the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, through which they have donated more than $30 billion to charities around the world.
