This might not be a priority is every industry or for every designation but for savvy job seekers, it is important to come prepared. Cover letters reflects personality and lets the hiring manager see a unique side that is held back in the resume. However, while cover letters are considered an important functioning in bagging the dream job a lot of candidate’s are seen to make errors that reduce their changes of job opportunity.

Typos and grammatical errors

Typos can be a real hindrance if there are errors in it. Your application will certainly land itself in the reject list if you do not take proper measures to avoid it. "Your communication skills are perceived according to how well the letter is written," said Tina Nicolai, executive career coach and founder of Resume Writers' Ink. "If a typo or grammatical error is present, the reader may think you were 'too busy' or lazy to check your work or don't care enough about this job to take the application process seriously. Or worse, they'll think you just don't know how to spell." said Nicolai.

One must also be cautious about relying on spell check, as it is not always accurate. Have a friend look over the cover letter before submitting it to the employer.
