Japanese multinational corporation, Sharp is into designing and manufacturing electronic products. The company is based in Abeno-ku, Osaka, Japan. The company was established in September 1912, which means it recently completed the century year of its establishment. Since the time of its establishment, it has been one of the leading electronic companies in the globe. Sharp has also been declared as the world’s fourth largest manufacturer of television after Samsung, LG and Sony. Though the company has already started cutting of 5,000 jobs, recently reported that the job cut might increase to around 11,000. As the company has decided to save its cost, it has informed the rest of the employees at the company to accept the pay cuts.

Job Cuts: Around 8,000

 Canadian telecommunication and wireless equipment company that is best known for BlackBerry Smartphone and tablet, was founded in 1984 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. In June 2012, the company announced that to save around $ 1 billion in the operating expenses, the company has planned for job cuts of 2,000 to 3,000 as expected by the analysts. The company has further raised the job cuts for another 2,000 + as of 2012.
