Edwin Aldrin: The 2nd person to walk on moon and an engineer turned astronaut is one of the alumni who was recognized by MIT. Commonly known as Buzz Aldrin, he turned down a full scholarship course offered by MIT and went to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. But later in 1963 he earned a doctorate in astronautics from MIT. His dissertation has been entitled as Line of Sight Guidance Techniques for Manned Orbital Rendezvous. He is former Air Force Officer and Command Pilot.
Robin Chase: She is the founder and CEO of Buzzcar, a peer-to-peer car sharing service. She completed her master’s degree in management as a Sloan fellow at MIT’s Sloan School of Management in 1986. She is currently a board member of the World Resource Institute and a member of World Economic Forum’s transportation council. She has even served at the U.S. Department of Transportation Intelligent Transportation Advisory Committee, the Boston Mayor’s wireless task force. She appeared in several national media platforms like Today Show, The New York Times National Public Radio, Wired, Newsweek and Time magazines.
