Value of a Foreign Degree in India

After the global economic crisis hit back the world in the year 2008, many of the NRI IT professionals who gained their foreign degrees returned back to India as they started experiencing lack of job in various countries in the world. This has made them to start searching for a job in India, and the recession also helped them to stay with their families.

Even though the recession has continued in the countries like United States and UK’s economies, many NRIs have found work hard in those countries. In India, despite the recession, it has continued on its strong economic path. India has made NRIs to return back home as there is a thriving job market together with the lower overall cost of living. Despite the economic crunch, the average salary of an Indian worker has increased by 13 percent in 2011.

In spite of economic downturn India is in the position of reducing unemployment in the country and many of the world’s leading companies that are set up in India have sought to reduce costs in the wake of the global recession, reports MarkBooth.

The most popular job sector in India at present is the IT and this may help many of the NRIs who hold foreign degrees to find a job in this sector and it is followed by Aviation, Hotel and Hospitality sectors, retails, healthcare and social networking markets.
