Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) and the Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT) has merged to bring-in Ireland’s first Technological University, TU Dublin. The merger created an open learning experience offering pathways to graduation from apprenticeship to PhD level to a diverse range of students.

Dr. Robert Flood, Head of International Affairs, says, “The establishment of TU Dublin is a once in a generation change in Ireland’s Higher Education landscape and carries the opportunity to create a step-change in engagement, innovation and enterprise within the regional socio-economic environment. We look forward to the welcoming students and academic partners to this pioneering university, where our students, staff and societal partners will collaborate on academic programmes that will prepare Ireland’s skilled graduates of tomorrow”.

TU Dublin emphasizes on student experience with a range of opportunities in the curriculum applying theory to real-world challenges through problem-based learning, active citizenship, work-placement opportunities, project work, active learning, community-based learning, research, and engagement with contemporary practitioners. TU Dublin is the only university in Ireland that offers over 200 programmes to students from more than 85 countries, across disciplines including Creative and Performing Arts, Humanities, Built Environment, Engineering, Business, Sciences and Health, Tourism, Food and Sports.

Located on campuses spanning the three largest centers of population in the Greater Dublin Region – Dublin City, Blanchardstown and Tallaght, TU Dublin University has 28,500 students where arts, business, science, engineering and technology that creates synergies and opportunities and connecting students, staff, employers, researchers and the wider academic community in potential transformation and growth.  The new state of the art Grangegorman campus on a 73-acre site in the heart of Dublin City is being developed as a location encourages and supports knowledge advancement, sustainable development and inclusive education.
