Bangalore: During the Global Economic crisis (2008-2009) the wages of tech workers in the Silicon Valley was reduced by 10 percent. But even with the drop in pay, tech employees in the Silicon Valley remain by far the best paid in the U.S. An average tech workers salary in the U.S. is said to be about $74,570. But this number has changed since the 2008 recession with about 53 percent of the employees seeing a hike in their salary during recession. Silicon Valley which is considered the home of techies has each tech worker getting a salary of $132,500 on an average. The largest tech workforce is in New York, where 316,971 people work in IT. Washington has 292,969 tech workers, while San Jose/Silicon Valley has 225,575, Boston has 219,798, and Dallas-Fort Worth has 174,848, according to a report by TechAmerica. After Silicon Valley, the best tech paychecks are in San Francisco, where pay averaged $123,479 last year. Next was Boston, where average pay was $102,230, followed by Washington, and North Carolina's Research Triangle Park area, where average pay is $100,402. As more of these technologies advance and become Web-enabled, the messaging administrator's job has growing demand and a decent salary lift.
