Bangalore: Each year thousands of HR students graduate and enter the job market. But they often seem to complain that they are not getting the job profile they hoped for. So the question arises, is the education system giving the practical expertise needed in the field. There is huge gap between what is taught in college and what the HR industry is looking for. The value of experience is always considered more than degree in big companies.

Any HR professional will tell you that the theoretical knowledge is totally different from the practical knowledge in this field. So, the students are not advised to stick to their bookish theory and should start to see the practical aspect of the industry.

Students must plan their career strategy from very early stage. One of the most advantageous options can be opting to work as HR Assistants, Recruiting Coordinators, and HR Representative Roles, which will give them the real insight to the industry. So that when they graduate they have enough experience to compete in the job market.

Now, the HR students may ask themselves, "Should we stop dreaming about that dream job?" The answer is ,
"Of course not." If the budding stage of their career is filled with practical experience and proper planning they will be definitely be successful.

Social networking sites like LinkedIn and Twitter is one major source to connect with the higher authorities of the big companies which make you noticed and more connected. They can also take up the interviews where the requirement is for much experienced candidates in order to know what they have to prepare for the future.

A word of caution though, sometimes you may have to settle for something that is lower than your expectation, but need not worry take it as a stepping stone for your dream job instead. So, be like a sponge and soak up all the experiences that come up to your way, because you never know when that experience can come handy in your life.
